Sunday Dinner

Here’s hoping that every Sunday night is as enjoyable as last Sunday night. We hosted a handful of our friends for a taco feed! We purchased our house because we loved it instantly but also because we knew it would be a warm and inviting place to entertain our friends and family.

We were so right and couldn’t be more grateful to have found such a sweet home.

We couldn’t help but feel a little giddy when our buddies started to arrive.

Meet Tim and Jessie. They have a rare condition called ‘Permasmile.”

Dinner time produced plenty of great conversation and a lot of laughs.

There was even a tickle fight.

After dinner, we enjoyed a little jam session.

Adam showed off his ukelele skills.

Jack showed off his mandolin skills.

Things got what we like to call “cray.”

We’re looking forward to many more Sunday dinners with good friends!

Weekend Update

Hello, friends! We had a great weekend and hope you did as well. Here are some highlights:

First of all, the countdown is on! Adam’s birthday is on the 31st of January.

Here’s the (almost) birthday boy starting off Saturday right.

We’ve been invited to a super cool Great Gatsby themed birthday party, so the great Kate and Layne went shopping for party attire on Saturday morning.

Kate made friends left and right. This was her favorite…

But she took this one home with her…

Layne finally pulled the trigger on her first tattoo on Saturday night, along with Kacy.

We celebrated Layne’s new addition with some Downton Abbey…

…and some Rummikub.

Sunday was filled with church…

…and friends! We hosted Sunday dinner (hopefully the start of a new tradition). More photos of that to come but here’s a preview.

2012: Year in Review

Celebration / 11 years ago

2012 handed us many moments to treasure. Let’s take a look at some of the highlights.

In January, we took a trip to London with our friends, James and Ryan.

In March, Layne and Katy took a trip to Los Angeles to audition for The Voice.

Here’s a view from the back of the line (a few thousand people turned up the morning we were there).

We took time to see some of the Hollywood sights and ran into a couple of pretty famous celebrities.

In April, Adam came home for good from his one year assignment in Afghanistan.

We travelled to the Oregon Coast on Memorial Day weekend with our friends, Heather and Travis.

June was a big month! Adam participated in the Sawtooth Relay.

Adam’s brother Andrew married Kacy – cementing the Dream Team by matrimony.

In July, we made the hike all the way to the top of Mount Borah, Idaho’s highest peak. We made the trip with eleven of our friends.

In August, we celebrated our one year anniversary.

We held a reception the weekend before our anniversary to incorporate a lot of people who weren’t able to come to the wedding.

It was a blast. We hope to hold a celebration like this every year.

To celebrate Andrew’s birthday, we went white water rafting.

In September, we welcomed the newest members of our little family, Bennett and June.

We participated in the Color Run in October.

For Halloween, the Dream Team dressed up as characters from Beauty and the Beast.

In November, we closed on our new, old home.

We celebrated Christmas in our new home with our families.

We rang in the New Year with some great family and friends.

It was a beautiful, beautiful year.
